We are very keen to remind people that if a Statutory Demand is received from Lowells, please do not ignore it.
Please seek advice as soon as possible, especially if you own property.
Recent cases include:
- Where two debts were bundled together, one for £550 for a phone bill that they were actively chasing, and the other for £300 for a utility that they didn't chase.
Where a Statutory Demand was issued several months ago and assurances had been received over the phone that it was not going to be processed. Following the issue of the Statutory Demand and the phone call, the next the debtor knew was the notification from the Official Receiver.
Where a person had moved and then were presented with a bankruptcy notification, the Statutory Demand had been served at the previous address. Lowells were aware of the new address, but made a mistake.
