#3764 We have lived in this house for 10 years this year, my wife brought it, and the mortgage is from her bank in her maiden name. She earns almost 3 times more than me. I moved in from a rented flat. All I pay towards the house is contents insurance. She also owns a expensive car in her maiden name, brought via a loan in her name. She needs for work. She travells all over the country. Is that also at risk. If it is anyone got a spare room.

#3766 Well then the house is nothing to do with you and is totally safe. Similarly the car is your wife's. Your wife has no responsibility - in law - to your debts so they cannot take anything of hers. I even know of some people who have gone bankrupt and their spouse's are still in blissful ignorance!
