Can you help ?

Can I be appointed power of attorney for my partners debts in an IVA or maybe the new SIVA case ?

Many thanks

#210719 By SIVAs I assume you are talking about the new simplified protocol IVAs. I have not heard that you can represent a partner by power of attorney but why should you need to - there is no need to attend court and unless there is some illness that causes a problem it is always better if both parties know what is going on. These are INDIVIDUAL volutnary arrangements and if someone is not well enough to deal then perhaps an IVA is not the best route for them.
