How to get out of debt - A step by step guide

  • If you haven't already, fill out a full income and expenditure sheet.
  • Check if your Income and Expenditure meets the recommended budget.
  • Create a full list of your unsecured debts and creditors.

  • If you have debts with your current account provider, change your current account.
  • Check for priority debts.
  • Offer token payments to your creditors.
  • Apply for a 30 days grace period using this template letter.
  • Find out what to do if there's a bailiff at your door.
