Free Debt Counselling Advice
Free Debt Counselling Advice
When you’re in debt and you feel you can’t cope, you can feel isolated, lonely and helpless. You may feel like there’ nowhere to turn to help. And you may feel like there’ no way you’ll ever be free from debt.
You may have wondered if debt counselling might help you.
Although PayPlan isn’t strictly a debt counselling service, we are a debt management company providing debt solutions who take the time to listen carefully to every single person who contacts us. Then we help and support our clients fully in order to identify affordable debt solutions that can really get them out of debt.
Don’t you think that’s more useful than debt counselling?
Most people begin by calling us free on 0800 316 1833, others prefer to fill in our online Debt Help form so we can contact them. Then we listen carefully to get an idea of what debts you have, who you owe, and what your basic income and expenditure is. We never ever judge anyone, we just want to help you get out of debt.
You’re certainly not alone. And it’s no coincidence that by far the most common phrase our friendly telephone advisers hear from people after their introductory phone chat is; “I wish I’d called you sooner.”
After you contact us
As with debt counselling, we understand that it’s most important that we take time to listen to you in order to help to understand your situation. We’ll probably ask you about your income, your expenditure, whether you live on your own or with other people, and other relevant things. We handle all information with absolute confidentiality, of course. (In fact some of our clients don’t even tell their partners that they’ve contacted us and this is something we always respect for as long as you want.)
That first telephone call with us will take around thirty minutes, so it would help if you had a rough idea of who your creditors are and what you owe them, as well as a rough idea of what your monthly income and expenses are.
Once we have enough information, and we’re sure we can help you, we’ll talk you through the debt solutions that are most appropriate for your needs. Our Debt Management Plans (DMPs) and Individual Voluntary Arrangements (IVAs) are always based around what you can afford to pay back, which means our debt solutions are affordable and sustainable too.
Debt counselling specialists
We’re hopeful that once you’re a PayPlan client you’ll feel more confident that you don’t need debt counselling because our debt solutions are affordable and sustainable, and we will do everything we can to help you regain control of your finances and become debt-free.
If you still feel that you’d benefit from debt counselling, some local authorities (but not all) offer a free debt counselling service with a specialist organization. In this case, please contact your local authority for more information.
But remember whether you seek debt counselling or not, we at PayPlan are always here to help you.
We’d love to hear from you if you’re in debt and you feel you can’t cope anymore, because after twenty years in the debt management business we’re sure we can help.
Have a chat with our friendly debt advisers, and you may find that this alone might begin to ease the pressure and the burden of debt. And it could well be your first step to a brighter future without any debt.
