Administration Order
If you already have a County Court Judgment (CCJ) or High Court Judgment and can’t repay it in full, an Administration Order may help. It’s a formal court arrangement that allows you to make one monthly payment towards your debts.
Please note: We don’t offer Administration Orders directly. This page is for information only – but we can help you explore other suitable options if needed.
What is an Administration Order?
- An Administration Order is a legally binding court agreement.
- You pay the court one affordable monthly payment.
- The court distributes this payment among your creditors.
- While the order is in place, creditors included in it shouldn’t normally take further action.
Who is an Administration Order for?
You may be eligible if you:
- Have a CCJ or High Court Judgment you can’t clear straightaway
- Owe less than £5,000 in total – including interest and charges
- Have two or more creditors
- Live in England, Wales or Northern Ireland
- Can afford regular payments after essential bills
If you live in Scotland, different solutions apply.
Benefits of an Administration Order
- Creditors included in the order can’t take action without court permission.
- Contact from these creditors (letters, calls or visits) should normally stop.
- Interest and charges are frozen.
- The court manages your payments and divides them fairly among creditors.
Things to consider before applying
- You’ll be charged a 10% fee for every payment you make to the court.
- If you want proof the order is complete, you may need to pay an additional £14 for a Certificate of Satisfaction.
- An Administration Order stays on your credit report for six years from the date it starts.
- It will also appear on the Register of Judgments, Orders and Fines.
- If you miss payments, the court can cancel the order or instruct deductions from your wages.
How do I apply for an Administration Order?
The application process is straightforward.
- Complete an N92 form
- Take it to your local court, where you will need to sign it in the presence of the Court
- The court will review your situation and decide:
- How long your arrangement should last
- Whether you must repay all or part of the debt
- How much your monthly payment should be
If approved, you start making payments directly to the court.
Is an Administration Order right for you?
An Administration Order could help if:
- Your debts are small
- You already have a CCJ
However, if your debts total more than £5,000, or your situation is more complex, other solutions may be more suitable.
