#472867 You could but the debts have not gone - they are statute barred which means the creditor cannot go for court action against you to reclaim them. Many people think statute barring means written off but in England and Wales this is not the case - however, they cannot get the money from you unless you are willing and able to pay it. Any default on the debt also disappears from your credit file after six years too but I cannot answer for internal procedures.
