#471804 Looking for some serious advice please? Currently on a wage arrestment with Stirling Park for council tax arrears. I am being made redundant but lucky enough I have got a new job. I phoned them regarding my redundancy and was told that unless I make a contribution towards my arrears off my redundancy £2700 pounds then they are within there powers to take the whole amount except for £460 by a bank arrestment. My question is will I still have to make a contribution even though I have found a new job and carry on with a wage arrestment with my new employer?

Many thanks

#471805 Hi and Welcome

No Redundancy Payments are not treated as Arrestable pay, so thay cannot take it.

Arrestments are made again NORMAL routine earned pay.

However, the quicker you clear this debt down the easier it is for you long term
