Fed up of spending £100’s on your monthly beauty rituals?
Skin care and beauty products are often quite pricey. The basics can quickly add up, and if you indulge in any professional beauty treatments, costs can quickly rise to £100’s.
Looking after your skin is important, but why should you pay a premium when you can get the same results with homemade products that cost a fraction of the price?
Considered making homemade beauty and skin care products, but never know where to begin? Worried that they won’t be very good? Well, fear no more!
Here we go through some really simple proven homemade beauty and skin care products that use completely natural ingredients and cost literally pennies to make.
Lemon sugar scrub
- 4 tablespoons of granulated sugar
- 3 tablespoons of olive oil
- 5-10 drops of lemon essential oil (alternatively a squeeze of a real juice will do the trick)
Mix the sugar and olive oil together until the sugar is covered, add the lemon oil and bingo!
A gorgeous, citrus body scrub is ready to use and will leave your skin silky smooth for days.
Yoghurt and honey face mask
- High-fat plain yoghurt
Two parts yogurt, one part honey. Mix. Brush onto skin
Yoghurt and honey form the basis of many face masks thanks to the gentle healing properties they offer. The yoghurt contains natural acids that tighten pores and exfoliate far more gently than other acids.
Honey retains water, which means your skin maintains moisture.
Chamomile eye and skin repair
- Chamomile tea bag
Soak a chamomile tea bag in cold water, squeeze out excess water and place on the eyes.
For skin, use boiled water and transfer into a spray bottle. Add a tea bagand let it steep in the water, then leave it in the fridge until cool. Then, mist on your face. Ahhh instant relief!
Chamomile tea is great for reducing red or puffy skin and eyes.
