PAYPLAN URGES IMMEDIATE HELP FOR UK’S DEBT BURDEN
Writing by Payplan Media Release - Grantham on Thursday 13 March 2008
Latest Budget will give debtors little let up in battle to sort finances
Following Alistair Darling’s Budget speech, free debt advice and solutions provider, Payplan, has called on the government to do more to help the hundreds of thousands of Britons struggling with debt problems every day.
John Fairhurst, managing director, said:
“People who have been coping with a debt burden will have little respite as a result of Alistair Darling’s Budget. The cost of living continues to soar, placing those in debt in an increasingly difficult position, with less money to pay back what they owe.”
Mr Fairhurst went on:
“There are some promising Government initiatives in the pipeline, such as those contained within the Courts, Tribunals and Enforcement Act, but what is urgently needed is immediate action to tackle the issue.”
