Will Payplan be sending credit reports to uprate our credit profiles so that even in debt we can rise out of the mire that some of us find ourselves in. I have a prepaid [removed by editor] card that every 3 months sends a positive to uprate my credit references, this needs to be done as well by Payplan.

    Hi Malcolm

Payplan is a third party that helps people repay money in a manageable way to their creditors. Our clients do not owe money to Payplan. Therefore, it would be technically impossible to add anything to a Payplan client’s credit file - only their creditors (the people to whom they owe money) can do this.

Secondly, if a client has received a Default Notice or Court Action (eg CCJ/ Charging Order) - as most of Payplan’s clients will do/have - then all of these things will remain on their credit files for at least 6 years from the point of entry.

Even if their debt is paid back in full before the 6 years expires, their file will still show a history of Default and debt problems until after the 6 years - sometimes longer in the case of bankruptcy.

There is perhaps less benefit therefore to the kind of ‘credit repair’ card that you state you’re using for people with serious debt problems?

    Kind Regards

    Paul

With the advice of Payplan I have been managing my debts myself, it is reassuring to know that help and advice is at the end of the phone. I have one particularly nasty creditor, ironically my smallest debt, who have made all sorts of awful threats to me just a phonecall to Payplan and their lovely staff give straightforward information and reassurance that I am doing everything right. A big thank you for easing the weight on my shoulders!
